It costs less than $20 and comes with 2 refillable pods!
That’s a great price. Nothing to lose in trying it. Above all when you realize this thing can rival pod system and even beat some. The Juul, for example, is objectively inferior to it.
The Juul is a closed pod system (bad) with a proprietary and annoying charger (double bad), it only has a tiny 200mAh battery (the SMOK SLM is a cigalike and still has a 250mAh one) and yet is way more expensive (about $35 up to $50 vs about $20 for the SMOK SLM). And if you add the cost of the pods themselves plus the fact you have a very limited choice of flavors, well, there’s no comparison anymore. The SMOK SLM buries the Juul, plain and simple.
And yes, of course you can use nicotine salt e-liquids with the SLM. Way more than you ever could with the Juul since you can buy whichever brand or flavor you want. Not the case with the Juul.
Note to readers:
All numbers given below must be understood in relation to a device category. These numbers are thus relative. E.g. a 4 in vapor production for an All in One doesn’t mean that a Pod System which also received a 4 will produce as much vapor. We obviously don’t expect the same performance from each of these (categories of) devices. So, our scores reflect this.

At the moment of writing this review, the price on both store is less than $15 with free shipping in most countries. A very good price for such a pleasant device.

The SMOK SLM is a Simple, Solid, Sleek and Shiny (S4) Mouth To Lung (MTL) vaping device.
Solid because beside its great performance for a cigalike, it’s basically one metal (zinc alloy) tube with a battery inside. So, there’s little chance to break anything.
Sleek because its minimalist, slightly flatten design, its slim profile and its overall shape make it look good.
And Shiny, well… Because it’s shiny and that was another adjective starting with an “S” that applied perfectly to it. 😀
The big selling points of this device are essentially its big battery, high power, and tight draw. We’ll talk about battery life and the way it vapes in the sections below. So, let’s see what else we can tell you.
Before using the SLM, you need to charge it. So, let’s talk about the charging port first. It’s placed at the bottom of the cigalike. Thus, it doesn’t disrupt the design with a hole for the USB plug. Plus, it’s very convenient when you want to vape on it while charging it. Yes, you can do that since the SMOK SLM has the pass-through feature which makes it possible.
Now, the battery. Sporting a 250mAh battery is impressive for a device this size. It’s the same battery size or bigger than most stick kits/Pod Systems. So, the SMOK SLM punches way above its category.
This battery size allows for quite a bit of energy through the SLM circuit.
The power output on the SMOK SLM is measured at 10 to 16W. That’s quite a lot and around double what a Juul can muster (6 to 9W). Though you won’t make bigger clouds with all this power (relative to the size and to other little devices sticks Pods Systems) because of the very restrictive draw and therefore lack of air(flow) that could contribute to the vapor production.
So, the high amount of power is there to compensate the lack of air. But the good news is that the vapor produced is actual vapor with little air. Why is it a good thing?
– Because, cigarette-like pull nonwithstanding, it means better flavor reproduction. You simply get proportionnally more e-juice in your vapor compared to a pod system that visually (seems to) produce(s) the same amount but does it thanks to a looser airflow (more air instead of more e-liquid flumes).
– This also means, better vapor density. More e-liquid flumes and less air = thicker vapor. It results in a more satisfying, richer vapor and a better MTL experience.
We don’t mean it’s the best device for Mouth To Lung vaping since there isn’t only one kind of MTL vaping. Nor, and for the same reason, do we say it will offer the best MTL vaping experience.
But, if you’re looking for or would like to try out something with a similar draw to a cigarette, this is the closest you gonna get. And the good thing is… it’s not a cigarette.
The tight airflow, beside the form factor reminiscent of a cigarette, is one of the main reasons we like this device so much. It’s tight. But not so tight as it hurts to pull on it. There’s still a bit of air passing through. You can verify that by listening to the distinctive crackling sound it makes. Not, it’s not an annoying noise, it’s a pleasant sound, actually. Don’t ask us why but we like it. Honestly.
So, simply put and as long as you like a restrictive cigarette-like draw, it vapes real good.
Also, and as mentioned earlier, despite the tight airflow, it produces a decent amount of vapor. Again, comparable to a small Pod System.
Same for flavor, it’s pretty good.
The hit? Better, not comparable, better than the devices we’ve been comparing it too since the beginning of this review. 10 to 16W remember? That helps.
BUT we still wouldn’t recommend it for someone wanting to quit smoking.

After reading our review, you can get a better idea of how the SMOK SLM vapes by seeing it with your own eyes. The videos below are here for that (and to watch and listen to various experienced vapers and great Youtubers’ opinions).
… The hole to refill it. It’s on the side of the pod and outside of the casing. So, it’s always accessible and you don’t even have to take out the pod to refill it. That’s very convenient. But, yes, here comes the but… It’s tiny. And I mean tiny. You’d better use a bottle with a (blunt tip) syringe-like filling tube (see picture above). You can load it with a more ordinary e-liquid bottle but be precise and cautious.
It’s not that annoying, difficult or time consuming, but it just requires a bit of technique or the right e-liquid bottle.
And not to spoil the picture, the SMOK SLM has a relatively good battery life too.
With the energy-efficient 1.8 Ohm coils inside the pods and a 250mAh battery capacity, one charge should last you half a day. It should be comparable to a Juul or similar devices since the Juul has a 200mAh battery and, if we’re not mistaken, a 1.6 Ohm coil but a low power output of 6 to 9W.
So bigger battery and higher resistance coil but way higher power output. That should result in more or less the same battery life. We say should because there’s no way we would buy a closed Pod System like the Juul. So, we cannot really compare.
Obviously, the more you drag on it, the less it will last. It should go without saying but we’re saying it nonetheless.
If you want a small device that could, by itself, make you forget all about cigarettes, maybe you’ll be interested in the OneVape Lambo II (link to our review of the little beast). And thanks to their low price, you can always get both.

That’s it for the main content of this review.
We let you with Mister MTL’s opinion on the SMOK SLM cigalike, a great Mouth To Lung device.
For this SMOK SLM review I don’t have much of anything of value to add. Everything has been said on the SMOK SLM in the body of the review and I agree with it.
It’s a great secondary, more like “tertiary” device. You put in your pocket or in a bag. You may forget it since it’s so small but it’s there, ready to serve when needed or when you feel like taking a puff or two on it.
Actually, there’s a point I need to clarify or add, though.
I think it may be a good object for those of you who want to quit smoking.
Not THE device for the job but, as I said, a secondary device.
Its purpose would be to help you when you’d feel like smoking a cigarette or just would want to hold one in your hand.
As it’s similar to one (a bit longer and heavier sure, but close enough) and it vapes a lot like a cigarette (just better), you would take this out instead and… voila, no need to touch a cigarette.
But beyond these moments and despite its great performance for a cigalike and even compared to what should be more powerfull devices, this cannot compete with a Pod System or AIO with a bigger battery and similar or higher power output.
That’s what you’ll need to kick your smoking addiction (for me, it’s not simply about nicotine, it’s having something in your hand, the gesture, the feeling of the smoke/vape passing by your mouth and then filling your lungs etc…). But this SMOK SLM could help for sure.
Plus, you may end up really liking it and vaping on it more than you thought you would.

One of the most experienced in the vaping community. Has been making (good) Youtube video reviews for years.
NO BS either.
